Why should the school allow Christian songs to be sung, when, most likely, people would be very upset if a song of praise to Allah (for example) were allowed or a song saying religion is a fantasy. Obviously, you do not understand what should be appropriate for students in a public school if you have no problem with the singing of ‘Silent Night.’ This song is clearly a song of praise to the Christian god.
